Why Carolina? “I knew that I wanted a major university, with excellent academics and a strong athletic tradition, where I could compete as a DI athlete and pursue a degree in sports medicine. I also wanted to be part of a large and enthusiastic student body. Carolina’s academic program within the Exercise and Sport Science Department originally intrigued me, since I’ve always known that that field is what I want to study. When I visited, I really enjoyed my time with the team and I saw how much of a family they were and that really appealed to me. The possibility of having a group of girls that I could go through college and be on a team with is such a big deal for me. I also appreciated seeing how the coaches interacted with the team and ran practices; that made a huge impression on me as well. The opportunity to pursue academics at a rigorous level while competing at an equally high level is truly the best of both worlds.”
