AS A SOPHOMORE (2004)
Hit .320 (47-for-147) in 59 games Made 34 starts in the outfield Finished third on the team with 16 doubles and added two triples and two homers Drove in 20 runs and scored 27 times Had a .497 slugging percentage o Recorded a .974 fielding percentage in 76 chances 141 of his 147 at-bats came against right-handed pitching Named to the all-tournament team at the NCAA Columbia Regional after batting .455 with two doubles and one RBI in four games Had eight multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games Went 4-for-6 with four RBI against St. Francis (N.Y.) on March 6 Homered and drove in three runs against UNC Asheville on March 9 Went 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI against South Carolina at Knights Stadium in Ft. Mill, S.C., on May 11 Had a seven-game hitting streak from May 22 to June 4 Hit safely in all five of Carolina's games at the ACC Tournament. Summer 2004: Played with the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plain League and was selected for the league's all-star game Batted .278 with four homers, 18 RBI, 10 doubles and 12 stolen bases.
AS A FRESHMAN (2003)
Started 36 games as a rookie and batted .248 on the season Drove in 22 runs and scored 23 times Also hit a pair of home runs and tallied five doubles and a triple Stole four bases in seven attempts Drove in a career-best three runs in his first college at bat against Delaware State on Feb. 20 Homered against Seton Hall on Feb. 23 and in the NCAA Regional versus Missouri on May 30 Had nine multi-hit games on the season Went 2-for-4 with two RBI versus LeMoyne on March 4 Batted 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored against High Point on April 8 Went 2-for-4 on back-to-back days against Maryland on April 12-13 Had a seven-game hitting streak from April 12-20. Summer 2003: Batted .403 with 37 RBI for the Carolina Hurricanes of the Carolina Collegiate League.
