General: Three-time returning letter winner who excels in the butterfly events...also swims distance free and backstroke.
Long Course Highlights: Competed in the 2009 British Gas ASA Championships in Sheffield, England where he swam the 100-meter backstroke and 100- and 200-meter butterfly events.
2009-10 (Junior): Swam three events at the ACC Championships...placed 16th in the 100 back, 19th in the 200 fly and 23rd in the 100 fly...named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll for the third straight year...tapped for the Dean's List in the spring semester of 2010.
2008-09 (Sophomore): Set career best times at the 2009 ACC Championships in the 100 fly (48.15), 200 fly (1:47.26) and 500 free (4:29.18)...a member of the 2008-09 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2007-08 (Freshman): Set a trio of career best times at the ACC Championships in the 100 fly (49.06), 200 fly (1:49.02) and 500 free (4:32.25)...was a consolation finalist in the 200 fly...tapped for the 2007-08 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Prep: A graduate of Georgetown Preparatory School in North Bethesda, Md. ...was the captain of swim team there...swam for the Potomac Valley Swimming club team...was the club's Performer of the Year in 2000 and 2004 for his age group...a four-year high school All-America selection... was a U.S. Swimming senior national qualifier in the 100 fly while still a prepster...was a member of the NCSA junior national all-star team.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is the team. We are more than a group of guys who swim together. We are a family.
2. Since my last competitive season, the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is my stroke technique, specifically in butterfly and backstroke.
3. My best friend on a collegiate athletic team at another University is James Dennis who plays soccer at James Madison University.
5. My greatest strengths as a swimmer are my underwaters and my willingness to learn.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academics, I like to spend time with my family and friends.
2. On a long bus trip, I'd like to watch Tropic Thunder.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be lacrosse or football.
4. If I received free concert tickets via a radio or internet promotion I would love to see Blink 182.
5. The one interest I have that people would be surprised to know is I've always loved Muscle Cars.
Section #3: Food
1. After a big meet I'd love to see a buffet spread that included Sutton's sausage, egg and cheese on toasted white bread.
2. My favorite beverage is Coca-Cola.
3. I'm allowed to enter a room with unlimited snacks, one room has the salty stuff, the other sweet stuff? Which room do I enter and why? The Salty Room. I'm not a big fan of sweets.
4. My favorite food made by a relative is my Mom's breaded chicken.
5. On my birthday, I'd love to be treated by my friends to dinner at Cantlers.
Section #4: Personality
1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I would go back to the American West in the late 1800s -- specifically Los Angeles or San Francisco.
2. My most prized personal possessions are my DC shoes beanie and my Sean Taylor Redskins jersey.
3. My iTunes library includes 1,200 songs, mostly rap, rock and some oldies stuff.
4. In a perfect world where making money was not a consideration my dream job would be either surfing or working in the media relations department for the Washington Redskins.
5. The most interesting person I've met in my time at UNC is Hank Browning. The guy is a character and a great friend.
