General Information
Three-year letter winner a versatile player who has played all over the field for the Tar Heels in her first three years - striker, defense and midfield is likely to see most of her minutes this year on the forward line member of Carolina Outreach community service group and has volunteered at a local elementary school the past two years member of Carolina Leadership Academy Veteran Leaders program after being a Rising Star previously has earned multiple mentions on the Dean's List.
Junior Season (2010)
Played in 20 matches and started the first two games of the season against Texas A&M and Michigan State played 601 minutes, including a season high 64 minutes versus Jackson State and 63 versus Texas A&M earned her first point of the season on an assist against Clemson her goal in the 42nd minute gave the Tar Heels the lead for good in a 5-3 win over Duke her other goal came against Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals tapped for the ACC Academic Honor Roll, her third successive such accolade made Dean's List both semesters, giving her a streak of five straight semesters on the Dean's List.
Sophomore Season (2009)

Freshman Season (2008)

A graduate of Fort Collins High School ran track and played basketball and soccer there played basketball for three years as a point guard participated in the long jump, high jump, triple jump, hurdles, sprints, relays, and pentathlon for her high school track team was the Class 5A State Champion in the long jump in 2007 played varsity soccer all four years was a starter every year on the pitch named the Colorado High School Activities Association Academic Team Champion from 2005-07 first-team All-State in 2007 Front Range League MVP in 2007 was named to the first team all-conference squad listed in the Who's Who Among American High School Students.

Emmalie Pfankuch is nicknamed Pancake (Pfankuch means pancake in German) is the daughter of Bob and Jill Pfankuch was born December 12, 1989 in Fort Collins, Colo. practiced Tae Kwon Do from 1995-99 earned her black belt at age 10 and was a three-time state champion in sparring and forms competition also played for a competitive boys baseball team as a pitcher and shortstop was a two-time Punt, Pass and Kick NFL football competition Regional winner 2000 & 2002 history major maintains a GPA above 3.6 speaks fluent Spanish and paints as a hobby.

Section #1: Soccer
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel soccer player is being with the team and having about 30 sisters with you all the time.
2. My favorite things about competing for Coach Dorrance are developing my soccer abilities as well as his many Ansonisms.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is composure when I have the ball.
4. My greatest strength as a soccer player is my reluctance to quit.
Section #2: Interests
1. Away from the soccer field and academic pursuits I like to spend time with my friends, traveling, painting or going on random adventures.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is WALL-E.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be track and field.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is an orchestra performing Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is teaching kids, especially in a special education setting.

1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a buffet spread at McCaskill that included ice cream and my Mom's home cooking.
2. My favorite beverage is chocolate milk.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is a mean pot roast made by my Mom and my Grandma.
