Â
The University of North Carolina and its Department of Athletics have taken a number of enhanced safety measures for the well-being and protection of all guests who visit Kenan Stadium.  To facilitate this, we have implemented the following:Â
Â
Staff-Related Measures
Additional Protection for Guests
Safety – for student-athletes, coaches and staff and the community – remains our priority, and everyone attending events must comply with local guidelines and the University's COVID-19 Community Standards. Let's do everything we can to keep each other safe. This means:
Â
Â
Assumption of RiskÂ
Promoting safety for everyone involved with UNC's Department of Athletics is our foremost priority.  Despite the public health and safety measures taken by the University and others, there is no definitive way to entirely prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Each sporting event or public gathering has acknowledged and assumed inherent risks.  COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. Â
Â
Even though it is impossible to remove all related risks, the University of North Carolina and its Department of Athletics have taken a number of enhanced safety measures for the well-being and protection of all Carolina Community members who visit campus.  By choosing to attend events in a UNC Athletic Facility, you are voluntarily assuming all risks related to COVID-19.
Â
Clear Bag Policy
Carolina Athletics encourages fans to leave all bags at home, but the following items will be allowed into Kenan Stadium and the Smith Center:
Â
All permissible bags and containers are subject to search upon entry. Â
Â
Prohibited bags and containers include, but are not limited to, the following: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, luggage of any kind, computer bags, and camera bags.
Â
Fans are still allowed to carry items such as phones, binoculars and cameras into the venue.
Â
These provisions are designed to reduce wait times for fans entering Kenan Stadium, as well as align UNC with fan safety measures at many other college and professional venues.
Â
Â
Prohibited Items
Guests may not bring any of the following items into games at the University of North Carolina:
Â
Fan Conduct Policy
Carolina's image is shaped not only by our players, coaches and staff, but by our fans as well.  Our goal is to create a high-energy environment to support our teams, while maintaining a wholesome, family-oriented atmosphere.  To ensure that all fans have positive game day experiences, each patron should act responsibly and be considerate of others.  Stadium security personnel will respond to complaints of misconduct. Â
Â
Individuals found violating any applicable law, University or Department of Athletics policies, or instructions of security personnel may be removed from the venue.  The University of North Carolina also reserves the right to remove anyone from the premises if, in the sole opinion of security personnel or staff, his or her conduct endangers players, coaches, officials, or fans.  Examples of conduct which may result in ejection and/or arrest without prior warning include, but are not limited to: fighting, abusive behavior, intoxication, throwing objects, or committing other acts that may injure patrons or otherwise disrupt or interfere with others' enjoyment of the game.
Â
Students involved in disruptive behavior will also be subject to disciplinary action through appropriate University policies and processes.   Students enjoy the rights and privileges that they gain as a member of the University community and are subject to the responsibilities which accompany that membership.  Non-students, while not affected by the Instrument of Student Judicial Governance, may be subject to arrest and prosecution under applicable laws and state statutes. Â
Â
ACC policies support good sportsmanship at all times.  Spectators are prohibited from accessing the field of play without proper game credentials.  Violators are subject to ejection and/or arrest.Â
Â
If you experience any issues, please tweet @GoHeelsGameDay, text or call 919-238-9894 or reach out to any stadium staff member.Â

Â
Carolina Community Standards
Public health and safety is the first priority of UNC Athletics, and our ability to conduct athletic events depends on the willingness of our campus community and visitors to come together in support of our collective health and safety. The University of North Carolina has developed a new set of community standards and policies for our students, faculty, staff and visitors. We are all in this together, and we believe that together we can face the challenges presented by COVID-19 with resilience, determination and great support by and for our community.
