Junior (2014)
Selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 15th round of the 2014 MLB Draft, but opted to return to Chapel Hill • Veteran right-hander made 15 starts in 16 appearances as a junior • Compiled a 4-2 record with a 3.62 ERA in a team-high 97.0 innings • Struck out 77 batters and walked 35 while limiting opposing hitters to a .214 average • Allowed just one home run all season • Earned Capital One Academic All-District 3 honors for the second straight year • Has a career record of 19-5 (.792), good for 11th in school history in winning percentage for pitchers with at least 20 decisions • Had his final start of the year cut short due to rain, but threw 3.0 scoreless innings in an eventual win over host Florida in the NCAA Gainesville Regional • Did not factor into the decision against Virginia (5/23) despite allowing no earned runs (two total) on four hits in 6.2 innings in the ACC tournament • Had one of his best outings of the year at Miami (5/16) when he allowed just one run on four hits with nine strikeouts in 7.0 innings • Picked up his third win of the season and career victory No. 18 with 7.0 innings of work against Virginia Tech (4/26) • Passed the 200 career innings milestone with 7.1 against Maryland (3/25), got a no-decision after leaving with the game tied at 2 in the eighth • Struck out a career-high 12 batters with just one walk and one run in a win over Pittsburgh (3/8) • Tossed his first career complete game against North

Sophomore (2013)
Appeared in 19 games and started 16 as a sophomore • Posted a 3.77 ERA in 88.1 innings, third-most on the team • Recorded the second-most strikeouts on the team, striking out 92 batters • Walked just 34 opposing batters while compiling a 8-1 record, good for third on the team in wins • Won his first seven decisions of the year, including ACC victories against Wake Forest (3/9), Miami (3/16), Boston College (3/23) and Duke (4/20)• Tossed six or more innings in six outings • Tallied a season-high nine strikeouts twice and recorded at least seven strikeouts in an outing six times • Tossed a season-high eight innings without conceding a run and giving up just two hits while striking out five against Georgia Tech (5/11)• Went seven innings with nine strikeouts while allowing no runs and just two hits against Miami (3/16) • Earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors for his performance against the Hurricanes • Made to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team.
