AS A FRESHMAN (2006)
Made eight appearances and posted a 1.50 ERA over six innings • Struck out six and walked four • Allowed just two hits all season and held batters to a .105 average • Worked a season-long two innings and struck out two against Seton Hall Feb. 19 in game two of a doubleheader • Also tossed scoreless frames against George Washington, Towson and Elon. Summer 2006: Went 3-1 with a 3.55 ERA over 21.2 innings for Ramapo Valley of the Met League • Made six appearances and struck out 27.

Pitched for coach Brian Quirk at Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, N.J. • Three-time all-league selection and two-time all-suburban and all-county choice • As a junior, struck out 104 batters in just 56 innings • Also earned the U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award as a junior • Also played football for three years and basketball for one • Named to honor roll each semester of high school. Summer 2005: Played with the Bayside Yankees of the NABF.
