Hit .311 (38-for-122) in 52 games Made 32 starts in center field Was the Tar Heels' regular centerfielder the final month and a half of the season Finished fourth on the team with four homers and added six doubles and 21 runs batted in Had a .459 slugging percentage Batted .350 versus right-handers and .359 with runners in scoring position Recorded 11 multi-hit games Had a .988 fielding percentage Went 5-for-6 with three runs scored against Maryland in the ACC Tournament on May 27 and followed that up with a 2-for-5 effort with three more runs scored against Duke the next day Was 3-for-3 with four RBI and a homer at Charlotte on April 14 Went 3-for-5 at Duke on April 25 Was 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored versus Davidson on May 18 Also homered against UNC Greensboro (April 21) and Maryland (May 7) Member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

Played in 37 games Had 12 hits in 41 at-bats Went 2-for-3 with a run scored versus Seton Hall on Feb. 17 Had a two-run single on March 5 at Old Dominion Scored a career-high three runs against Charlotte on April 24 Had two hits in four at-bats during the Duke series (May 11-13) including his first career home run. Summer 2001: Played for the Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League Batted .189 with 11 RBI and five stolen bases.
