2005 SEASON
Did not see game action for the Tar Heels and redshirted • Joined the Carolina program prior to the start of the season after spending the fall semester at Elon. Summer 2005: Played with the Rock Hill Sox of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League • Hit .319 with two homers and 12 runs batted in • Named South Division MVP in the league's All-Star game after going 2-for-3 with one RBI and four runs scored.

MT. TABOR HIGH SCHOOL
Played baseball for four years for coach Mike Lovelace and Mt. Tabor High School • Earned all-conference honors as a junior in 2003 • Served as team captain as a senior • Also played basketball for two seasons • Active in SADD, Red Cross and the Spanish Club. Summer 2004: Named to the FCIL all-star team after batting .295.
