AS A SOPHOMORE (2005)
Ranked fifth among regulars with a .326 average (57-for-175) • Saw action in 55 games and made 43 starts - 34 in right field and nine in left field • Drove in a career-best 34 runs and equaled a career high with 11 doubles • Also homered twice and had one triple • Scored 31 runs • Posted a .434 slugging percentage • Went 3-for-7 as a pinch hitter and hit .322 with runners in scoring position • Tallied 14 multi-hit games and was fourth on the team with nine multi-RBI games • Had an 11-game hitting streak from April 20 to May 14 • Recorded a .956 fielding percentage • Tied a career-high with four hits versus Winthrop May 10 • Went 3-for-4 with a homer, three RBI and three runs scored versus Seton Hall Feb. 18 • Roped three doubles versus Towson March 22 • Had three-hit games in ACC play versus both Virginia and Wake Forest • Also added three hits against Birmingham Southern • Went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI against UNC Wilmington Feb. 22 • Came off the bench to homer in a 5-4 win over Georgia Tech May 19 • Hit safely in all three games of the NC State series. AS A FRESHMAN (2004)
Finished the season third among Tar Heel regulars with a .329 batting average (55-for-167) • Played in 58 games and made 44 starts, mostly in left field • Also had three homers, 11 doubles and 24 RBI • Was second on the team with a .429 on-base percentage and fourth with a .461 slugging percentage • Batted .405 (17-for-42) with runners in scoring position • Was fourth on the team with 17 multi-hit games, including three games with three or more hits • Named ACC Co-Player of the Week on April 12 after hitting .533 with two homers and eight RBI in a four-game stretch • Went 2-for-3 with three RBI against Charlotte on April 7 before going 2-for-3 with a homer and three more RBI at Georgia Tech on April 9 • Also homered against the Yellow Jackets on April 11 • Went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI against Gardner-Webb on February 25, his second collegiate start • Was 4-for-5 with a season-best four runs scored against St. Francis (N.Y.) on March 7 • Went 3-for-4 with three runs scored against St. Francis (N.Y.) on March 8 • Also scored three times against Maryland on May 8. Summer 2004: Played with Fayetteville of the Coastal Plain League and batted .301 with two homers, 10 doubles and a team-best 32 RBI.
