As a Junior (2003)
Posted a 2-0 record in 16 appearances out of the Tar Heel bullpen Struck out 18 batters in 23.1 innings Picked up the win against Seton Hall on Feb. 23 and against NC State on April 27 Went 2.0 scoreless innings and struck out two batters in a key ACC win over the Wolfpack Tossed four shutout innings against Duke on April 19 and three scoreless frames versus Virginia Commonwealth on April 15 Tied a career high with five strikeouts against the Rams.
As a Sophomore (2002)
Selected by his teammates as one of the two most improved players on the team after an outstanding sophomore season Team leader with 32 appearances Picked up two saves and six victories as a reliever Ranked second on the team by allowing opponents to bat just .240 against him Allowed just one home run in 56.2 innings pitched Gave up no runs and recorded the win despite allowing eight base runners over 3.2 innings pitched against Armstrong Atlantic on Feb. 23 Pitched three perfect innings with five strikeouts in team's first two victories over Florida State on March 22-23 Struggled a bit during the middle of the season, but rebounded with a remarkable 12.1 scoreless inning streak from April 19-May 11 Pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless relief and picked up the win over NC State on April 21 Was the winning pitcher in both of team's one-run victories over defending national champion Miami on April 26 and April 28 Appeared in each game of the ACC Tournament Pitched in all three games versus South Carolina at the NCAA Columbia Regional, giving up just two runs over a total of 4.1 innings. Summer 2002: Pitched for the Wilson Tobs of the CPL Was 0-0 with one save and a 1.66 ERA in 21.2 innings pitched.
As a Freshman (2001)
Appeared in 11 games Pitched 4.1 innings of relief against UNC Wilmington. Summer 2001: Pitched for the Edenton Steamers of the CPL Went 4-3 with a 4.83 ERA Pitched a complete game shutout against the Peninsula Pilots.
