Finished 55th at the Great American Festival in the 5K race (19:42.6) ... Placed 100th at the Asics/Pre-National meet with a time of 22:07.6 (6K).Began the season with two top five finishes in the Campbell Invite with a time of 15:15.6 (4th/4K) and at the UNC Challenge with a time of 18:18 (6th/5K).

In 2001 Cross Country: Did not compete for the Tar Heels.

In 2001: In indoor, finished 16th in the mile at the Pepsi Invitational (5:24.16) ... Placed 3rd at Virginia Tech in the 3K (10:34.98.
