General: Tri-captain of the 2010-11 Tar Heels...possesses tremendous leadership skills...a three-time returning letter winner who excels in the sprint freestyle and breaststroke events for UNC.
Long Course Highlights: Competed at the 2009 Maccabiah Games for Team USA alongside senior Tar Heel teammate Josh Hafkin...won the bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke at the Games...was a member of silver medal-winning 800-meter freestyle relay for the U.S. and a member of the gold medal-winning 400-meter medley relay on which he swam the breaststroke leg...that relay broke the Israeli Open Record in the event.
2009-10 (Junior): Had a great meet at the 2010 Triangle College Cup...took first place in the 50 free in a career best 20.62...was third in the 100 free in a career best 45.33...was fourth in the 200 free...swam on winning 400 free relay versus Georgia Tech and the victorious 200 free relay versus NC State...named to ACC Academic Honor Roll for the third straight year.
2008-09 (Sophomore): Added another impressive season to his resume... swam personal best times in the 50 and 200 frees as well as the 100 breast at a meet in his hometown of Austin...swam his career best in the 100 free at a Tar Heel Last Chance meet...2008-09 ACC Honor Roll selection.
2007-08 (Freshman): Competed in the 2008 ACC Championships as an exhibition entry...set a career best time in the 200 free with a time of 1:43.06 at ACCs...named to 2007-08 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Prep: Graduated on May 25, 2007 from Westlake High School...played one year of basketball as a shooting guard...swam on the high school squad for four years...earned 10 high school All-America citations and was an 11-time All-State selection...qualified for Texas 5A state meet his sophomore through senior years...led Westlake to a state title his junior year...swam on the 200 free relay which took first in the state meet and was ranked No. 1 in the nation his junior year...also a member of a second-ranked 400 free relay unit that year...was seventh in state meet his junior year in the 50 free...as a senior he placed fifth in the 100 free and sixth in the 50 free at state meet...swam on a second-place 200 medley relay squad...swam with Longhorn Aquatics and was the leadoff swimmer on 200 and 400 free relays which took first place and set meet records at the 2006 Junior Nationals...that 200 free relay also set the 15-18 national age group record in the event...made the "B" final of the 50 free at the 2007 Junior Nationals and led off the 400 free relay which broke Longhorn Aquatics' own meet record set the year before while establishing a 15-18 national age group record yet again...member of National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta math honor society...graduated in Top 10 percent of his class...U.S. Swimming Scholastic All-America for three years...NISCA academic All-America.
Personal: Full name is David James Bresette Zolno...son of Ron and Lida Zolno...was born September 23, 1988 in Houston, Texas...was named the Director of Philanthropy for the Kenan-Flagler Business School Student Government for the 2009-10 school year...majors in business administration.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is competing for an all-around great university alongside my best friends.
2. My favorite things about competing for Coach DeSelm are the intensity and integrity he brings to the pool deck and the sport.
3. Since my last competitive season, the aspects of my training I've worked on the most are my flip turns and perfecting my breathing.
4. My best friends on another college swimming team are Anders Storvik at Tennessee and Jimmy Feigen at Texas.
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my freestyle kick.
Section #2: Hobbies/Interests
1. Away from the pool and academics, I like to spend time with my teammates, enjoying all Chapel Hill has to offer and playing golf and beach volleyball.
2. On a long bus trip, I'd like to watch Chappelle's Show: The Lost Episodes.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be basketball, obviously.
4. If I received free concert tickets via a radio or Internet promotion I would love to see the Rolling Stones.
5. The one interest I have that people would be surprised to know is ceramics.
Section #3: Food
1. After a big meet I'd love to see a buffet spread that included a bacon cheeseburger from Bun's and pizza from Artichoke Basil.
2. My favorite beverage is Gatorade.
3. I'm allowed to enter a room with unlimited snacks, one room has the salty stuff, the other sweet stuff? Which room do I enter and why? Salty stuff. I'm not too big on sweets, but I could snack on chips and Chex Mix all day.
4. My favorite food made by a relative is any kind of comfort food or classic American cooking prepared by my Mom or Asian cuisine made by my Dad.
5. On my birthday, I'd love to be treated by my friends to dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
Section #4: Personality
1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I would go to Ancient Greece to see what all the architecture looked like originally.
2. My most prized personal possessions are either my Blackberry or my computer; I'm way too reliant on those things.
3. My iTunes library includes about 1500 songs, mainly classic rock and a lot of present-day artists, too.
4. In a perfect world where making money was not a consideration my dream job would be the legal profession.
5. The most interesting person I've met in my time at UNC is Sean Lane; he's one of a kind.
