2022 - Junior Season
Saw action in 18 contests and earned a starting role in 16 of them • First career start came in the season opener against Air Force • Finished the year with four goals and one assist for nine points • Tied for first on the roster with four goals and ranked second with nine points • First goal of the year was the equalizer on the road at No. 5 Duke in the 10th minute • Notched his first game-winner vs. VCU in the 82nd minute off a header • Scored off another header in the 12th minute at Boston College, also registering a team-high four shots • Notched a goal in the 10th minute vs. No. 18 Virginia and tallied a game-high five shots • Assisted Ernest Bawa’s goal at NC State • Ranked first on UNC’s roster with 36 shots, 11 of which were on goal • Logged 1,061 minutes, including a career-high 80 on two occasions.

Appeared off the bench in 15 of 18 games • Finished the year with a goal and two assists for four points • Tied with Giovanni Montesdeoca for second on the team in assists • Scored first career goal in the NCAA Tournament Second Round against Charlotte on May 2 • Had an assist on Filippo Zattarin's game-winner with 0:01 remaining in a 1-0 UNC win against Clemson on Oct. 9 • Also assisted Taff Wadda's goal in UNC's 2-0 shutout over Duke on Nov. 6 • Took eight shots, including a season-high two against Charlotte in the NCAA Second Round.

Attended the Loomis Chaffee School and played three years of soccer, including the All-State All-America game and Bimbo All-America game (was the MVP for east team) • Earned All-American and All-State honors twice • Named team captain as a senior • Tallied 36 goals and 44 assists in his career, including 18 and 15, respectively, as a senior • Honor roll student and earned the Baxter Award for science and academic achievement • Played club soccer with Black Rock FC.

Akeim Maxwell Clarke is the son of Kerri Anne and Gary Clarke • Born in Hartford, Connecticut • His parents are from Jamaica and moved to the U.S. as teenagers • Father played semi-pro soccer for the Western Mass Pioneers • Mother ran track in high school • Has two brothers, Alonzo and Alex • Younger brother, Alonzo, plays soccer at Davidson • Older brother, Alex, played soccer at Bucknell • Birthday is July 7 • Majoring in exercise and sport science • Chose UNC because of the opportunity to play college soccer at the highest level while also getting a great education.
