Named to the ACC All-Freshman Team and All-ACC Academic Team • Appeared in 19 games, including 10 starts • Had a team-high 14 points and six goals • Scored his first career goals against Davidson in the 34th and 89th minutes on Sept. 6 • Also had goals against NC State (Oct. 3), Wake Forest (Oct. 8) and Notre Dame (Oct. 29) as well as the game-winner versus Wofford (Oct. 12) • Recorded a total of two assists at Davidson (Sept. 6) and Notre Dame (Oct. 29) • Took 32 shots, 14 of which were on target, including a season-high six versus Wofford (Oct. 12) • Signed by the Portland Timbers as an MLS Homegrown Player, the seventh Tar Heel to sign a homegrown contract since 2008.

Attended three different high schools (Bob Jones High School, Tualatin High School, and Baker Web Academy) • Selected for U14 and U16 Boys National Team Camp in Los Angeles • Traveled with Portland Timbers to Costa Rica in 2020 and Arizona 2021 for preseason tour • Scored the first goal for the team in Arizona in 2021 • Trained with the Portland Timbers first team for six months in 2021.

Tega Oba Ikoba is the son of Victor and Taiye Ikoba • Born in Davenport, Iowa • Oldest brother, Eduvie Ikoba, plays soccer professionally for AS Trencin in Slovakia • Father works as a nuclear engineer.
