Career Best Times: 20.09 in 50 free (4th in school history); 44.16 in 100 free (3rd in school history); 1:39.64 in 200 free; 57.16 in 100 breast; 48.53 in 100 fly.
General: An outstanding swimmer who is a leader in UNC's sprint corps...three-time letterman...versatile swimmer who can swim any of the sprint freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly events...was a member of the school's record-setting 200 free relay team that clocked a 1:18.97 in 2009.
Long Course Highlights: Competed for his native country, Jamaica, at the 2009 World Championships in Rome, Italy and the 2011 World Champion-ships in Shanghai, China...was coached in the latter competition by UNC assistant Eric Stefanski who was head coach of Jamaican team.
2010-11 (Junior): Swam in three individual events at the ACC Championships...placed 20th in the 100 free at 44.87, 22nd in the 100 fly at 49.01 and 26th in the 50 free at 20.46...won two events in dual meet win over Maryland.
2009-10 (Sophomore): Earned honorable mention All-America honors as the anchor swimmer on UNC's 400 free relay which finished 11th at NCAAs...swam on 200 free relays which won the title at the Gamecock Invitational and took first in the dual meet versus NC State...placed 15th in the ACC Championships in the 100 free (45.63), 18th in the 50 free and 22nd in the 100 fly...anchored the 200 free relay to a second-place finish at ACC Championships.
2008-09 (Freshman): Had an impressive freshman campaign...placed 13th at the ACC Championships in the 50 free with a time of 20.09, only .03 off the school record...also placed 10th in the 100 free (44.16) and 20th in the 100 fly (48.61).
Prep: A graduate of the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn. ...swam sprint free, fly and breaststroke in high school...was a captain of the Baylor team...two-time Tennessee high school state champion...two-time Eastern Swimming champion...Academic All-America selection.
Personal: Name is Brad Anthony Hamilton...son of Ransford and Merlene Hamilton...was born November 20, 1989 in St. Andrew Parish, Jamaica...has one sister...psychology major.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is wearing the Carolina Blue and carrying on the tradition of excellence.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is his enthusiasm and support for all aspects of my life.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is focusing on the little things and the steps which will help me achieve the bigger goals.
4. My best friend on another college swimming team is Josh Sosna.
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my ability to stay calm in pressure situations.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academic pursuits I like to spend time playing tennis and looking for new bands and music.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is The Change Up.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be tennis.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Coldplay.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is my love for cooking shoes.
Section #3: Food & Beverage
1. After a big meet, I'd like to eat at a buffet spread that included barbeque, mac and cheese, fried okra, hush puppies, and some warm apple pie with ice cream.
2. My favorite beverage is Ting-Jamaican Grapefruit Soda.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is carrot cake.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is Armadillo Grill.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is Goldfish.

1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to go to Egypt when they were building the pyramids.
2. My most prized personal possession is a gold chain from my dad.
3. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be Jeff Gordon.
