General: Performed well during his first year at UNC...a junior national qualifier and most outstanding performer at the O’Brien Diving Camp...had an oustanding freshman year at the University of Louisville before transferring to Carolina.
2000-2001: Solid diver for Coach Nunzio Esposto…had a great performance as a non-scorer at the 2001 ACC Championships…skilled on both the 3-meter and 1-meter boards…his scores would have gotten him 10th on the 3-meter and 11th on the 1-meter boards.
1999-2000: Competed at the University of Louisville from August 1999 to May 2000...won the Southern States Conference three-meter diving championship there as a freshman...was also named the Southern States Conference Diver of the Year in 2000.
Prep: Graduated from Stratford High School in June 1999...won the Most Dedicated Award and the Coaches Award there...was also an honor roll student there.
Personal: Given name is Daniel Scott Kananen...was born November 17, 1980 at Cannon Air Force base in New Mexico...has two brothers...is the son of Eric and Debbie Kananen…biology major…undecided on career plans.
