General:
An excellent performer for Carolina the past three years...an All-ACC diving selection as a sophomore and a junior…an integral part of an excellent Tar Heel diving corps...UNC’s top performer on platform…dove for his club team in Canada for seven years prior to coming to Chapel Hill.
Summer 2003:
Turned in an outstanding job at the Canadian National Championships in Winnipeg in June 2003...finished seventh in three meter diving with a score of 539.19 and eighth in one meter diving with a score of 291.42.
2002-03:
Did his usual great job at the 2003 ACC Championships...finished as the conference runnerup in three-meter diving with a score of 592.65, a school record score...also placed third in one-meter diving with a score of 305.15 points...2003 All-ACC selection...competed at 2003 NCAA Zone Championships and was a first alternate for the national meet.
2001-02:
Named to the 2002 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team...took second place in three-meter diving and fifth place in one-meter diving at the ACC Championships.
2000-2001:
At the 2001 ACC Championships, he finished 4th on the 3-meter and 9th on the 1-meter boards…a consistent performer all year long for the Tar Heels.
Prep:
Graduated on June 10, 2000 from Luther College High School…attended several national competitions…placed third on all boards at Junior Nationals…also placed seventh and tenth at Senior Nationals…honor roll student all through high school.

Given name is Eric Peter Poitras…was born on July 15, 1982 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada…is the son of Peter and Christine Poitras…his hobbies include waterskiing, diving and racquetball...athlete he most admires is Michael Jordan for his hard work to get where he is...also a big fan of Rob McMillen, best lifter amongst the divers…biggest sports thrill is experimenting with new dives…interested in pursuing a major in foreign relations.
