Career Best Times: 1:41.45 in 200-yard freestyle; 4:30.79 in 500-yard freestyle; 9:12.73 in 1000-yard freestyle; 15:23.02 in 1650-yard freestyle.
2011-12: Had an excellent performance at the Virginia Tech Invitational...placed third in the 1650-yard freestyle in 15:50.38 and captured fifth place in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:37.89...at the 2011 Nike Cup Championships, he placed 13th in the 1650-yard freestyle and was on an 800-yard freestyle relay team that placed 10th...also took 23rd place in the 500-yard freestyle.
Prep: A 2011 alumnus of Hickory High School...swam for Hickory High School from 2008-11...swam for YMCA Seahorse Swim Team (YSST) from 2005-11...North Carolina All-Star selection for four straight years from 2008-11...North Carolina high school state champion in 200 and 500 freestyles both his junior and senior years...high school most valuable swimmer his junior season...the North Carolina state record holder in the 15-16 age group in both the 1000-yard and 1650-yard freestyles...won the YMCA national championship in the 1500-meter freestyle in 2010.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer/diver is being able represent the best University in the world.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is his commitment to each and every athlete.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is developing a kick in my freestyle.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academic pursuits I like to spend time eating, sleeping, and watching sports.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is The Avengers.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be basketball.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Bon Iver.
Section #3: Food & Beverage
1. After a big meet, I'd like to eat at a buffet spread that was anything Chinese or Mexican.
2. My favorite beverage is Fierce Grape Gatorade.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is mashed potatoes.

5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is ice cream.
