Career Best Times: 4:23.42 in the 500-yard freestyle; 3:56.13 in the 400-yard individual medley; 1:44.37 in the 200-yard butterfly (School Record); 47.77 in the 100-yard butterfly (4th in school history).
General: One of UNC's most versatile and dependable swimmers...is one of three captains for the UNC men's team for the 2009-10 season...three-time returning letterman who owns the school record in the 200-yard butterfly... excels in the distance free, butterfly and IM events.
Long Course Highlights: Swam the 100 and 200-meter butterfly and 400-meter freestyle at the 2009 U.S Open.
2008-09 (Junior): Had a breakout season that was capped off by establishing the school record in the 200-yard butterfly individually and being a member of the 400-yard medley relay at the ACC Championships...named to the All-ACC Team for his performance in the 200-yard butterfly...finished as the runnerup in the event, just .64 of a second out of first place...also placed 13th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:23.46 and 11th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 47.77 at the ACC Championships...named to the 2008-09 Academic Honor Roll...named to the Dean's List in the spring semester of 2009.
2007-08 (Sophomore): At the ACC Championships he set career best times in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:26.96, in the 400-yard IM with a time of 3:56.13 and in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:47.73 ...placed 12th in the 500 free at ACCs...his time in the 200-yard butterfly lifted him into The Top 10 in school history and claimed eighth place at the Championships...his time of 3:57.43 in the 400 IM at the ACC Championships earned him eighth place... was the recipient of the Bruce Webster Memorial Award as Most Dedicated Men's Swimmer on the squad.
2006-07 (Freshman): Competed in three events at the ACC Championships in his freshman season...placed fourth in the 200-yard fly and was the top finisher for Carolina in the event with his time of 1:48.04, moving him up to ninth place on Carolina's All-Time Top 10 list...took ninth place in the 1650 freestyle with a career best 15:25.71...also recorded a career best in the 400-yard IM where he finished seventh in championship finals...finished the year with ACC Top 10 Times in the 1000 and 1650 freestyles and the 400-yard individual medley.
Prep: Was a senior national qualifier in 1000 and 1650 freestyles as a prepster...was the captain of his high school team as a senior...2005-06 high school All-America in the 500 free...four-time All-Section honoree...four-time qualifier for N.Y. state high school championship meet.
