General: Tri-captain of the 2005-06 North Carolina men's swimming and diving team...outstanding freestyle sprinter/middle distance swimmer and sprint backstroker...recorded three career bests to be listed No. 1 on the UNC depth last year in the 100 & 200 frees and the 100 back...three-time returning letter winner...one of the team's best students...member of the Carolina Leadership Academy...Dean's List honoree.

2004-05: Became an irreplaceable part of the Tar Heels with his performances in the freestyle and backstroke events...moved into fourth place all-time at UNC in the 100-yard backstroke with his 49.44 time in the Nike Cup...led off the second-place 800-yard freestyle relay team at the ACC meet with a split of 1:38.10 in the 200 free...also swam the backstroke leg for the fifth-place 200-yard medley relay...was the third swimmer on the fourth-place 200-yard freestyle relay...individually, he took 15th in the 200-yard freestyle and 24th in the 100-yard freestyle...won honors on the ACC Academic Honor Roll for the third year in a row...2004 U.S.S. Southern sectional champion in the 100-meter back.

2003-04: Swam his second strong ACC Championships meet...was the second leg of the second-place 800-yard freestyle relay team and came in with the second fastest split at 1:37.64...recorded the fastest split (20.33) on the Tar Heels' sixth-place 200-yard freestyle relay squad...anchored the fifth-place 400-yard medley relay team, posting a 44.72 split...he took 11th place in the 50-yard freestyle with a career best 20.68...took 10th place in the 200-yard freestyle and tied for 12th in the 100-yard freestyle...named to ACC Academic Honor Roll for second straight year.

2002-03: Placed 17th in the 50-yard freestyle at the ACC Championships (20.72)...took 13th place in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:40.36...was 17th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 45.62...anchored 400-yard medley relay which claimed fourth place...swam the third leg on UNC's 200-yard freestyle relay which finished in fifth place...led off the 400-yard freestyle relay team which placed third...named to 2002-03 ACC Academic Honor Roll...was also tapped for the Dean's List at UNC in both semesters.

Prep: Graduated from Firestone High School in Akron, Ohio on June 3, 2002...also swam for the Akron Swim Team...played golf for three years and swam for four years as a high schooler...was a freestyle specialist and captain of 2002 squad...as a senior in 2002 he won a trio of state championships--capturing the 200-yard freestyle, the 100-yard freestyle and swimming on the 400-yard freestyle relay team...an eight-time prep All-America, including five All-America citations his senior year...named the Ohio boys high school swimmer of the year as a senior...2002 Speedo swimmer of the year...swam on Firestone teams which were ranked No. 1 nationally in the high school ranks in 2002 and No. 2 nationally in 2000...individually, he was ranked the seventh fastest 200-yard freestyler in high school in 2002 and 12th fastest 100-yard freestyler.
