Patti Hucks is in her sixth year as a volunteer assistant coach working with the Carolina team. She assists associate head coach Stephen Frazier Wong in coaching the novice team.

Hucks has been rowing for more than a decade and leads the local masters program, with which she continues to train and race. The club named an eight the "Fast Patti" in her honor.

A New Jersey native, Hucks earned a degree in psychology from Rider College and has done work toward a Ph.D. in counselling at UNC.

She and her husband, Tim, have three grown children: Ben, Randy and Megan. They are enthusiastic fans of UNC athletics, especially the men's basketball team.
