Cindy Cone is beginning her seventh year as the volunteer assistant coach for the women's soccer program at UNC. Parlow was one of the greatest soccer players in both Carolina and U.S. Women's National Team history.
She played at Carolina from 1995-98, winning a pair of national championships and twice winning the Hermann Trophy as the National Player of the Year. Parlow made her first appearance for the U.S. Women's National Team in 1996 and played 10 years on the squad, winning Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2004 and a Women's World Cup title in 1999. She earned a silver medal at the 2000 Olympics and a bronze at the 2003 World Cup.
She concluded her career with 158, the ninth most in United States Women's National team history, and 75 goals, fifth best total.
On July 28, 2007, she married John Cone, owner of Cone Fitness Training and Consulting. She is Director of Coaching, Senior Girls Programs (U15-U18) for a Triangle United Soccer Association.
