General—A three-year letter winner and three-year starter as Carolina’s playmaking center midfielder...worked her way into a starting role at defensive midfielder midway through the 2000 campaign....a U.S. Under-18 National Team member when she came to Carolina...possesses tremendous strength and as the tallest player on the team she is always a target on set plays in the opponent’s box...is active in the Honors Program at Carolina.
ODP Soccer Experience—A former member of the U.S. Under-21 National team...competed for the Fuller Hamlet Soccer Club since the age of 10...helped lead team to state championships in 1997 and 1999...was the captain of the club team, playing mostly at forward and center midfield...also played both wide midfield and defense depending on the game and the situation...a member of the U.S. Under-18 National Team and a selection for the Under-21 National team pool...member of Regional Team in 1997, 1998 and 1999.
2002 Season—Started for the third straight year for the Tar Heels...played in 27 games, starting 24 times...she had three goals and one assist on the season...had goals against St. Mary’s, Clemson in the regular season and in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals against Texas A&M...her goal against Clemson forced overtime in the game and UNC went on to win in the second extra session.
2001 Season—Named second-team All-Southeast Region by Soccer Buzz...played in all 25 games for the Tar Heels, including 24 games as a starter...used her height to become a goal scoring threat for the Tar Heels...she scored eight goals and added four assists for 20 points...had a goal and an assist in wins over Tennessee and versus NC State in the regular season...scored single goals against Penn State in the regular season, UAB, Wake Forest in the regular season, NC State in the ACC Tournament, UNC Greensboro and Duke in the NCAA Tournament...had assists against Maryland and Rutgers.
2000 Season—Was expected to be one the top freshmen in the nation and she delivered on that promise...named to the ACC All-Freshman Team...played in all 24 games for the Tar Heels...was moved into the starting lineup at defensive midfielder against NC State on October 11, 2000 and that was the first start in what would be 12 successive starts to end the season...she scored four goals on the season and added nine assists for a total of 17 points...she ranked seventh in the ACC in total assists with nine...she was also seventh in the conference in assists per game with 0.38 per contest...her biggest game came against TCU on September 24 when she came off the bench to score two goals and add one assist...she had two assists in Carolina’s 5-1 win over NC State in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals...the following night she scored the game-winning goal in a 3-0 win over Florida State in the ACC Tournament semifinals...scored on a 30-yard howitzer into the upper left corner to cap off a 3-0 win over Connecticut in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals...recorded single assists in a game against Texas A&M, South Carolina, Oregon, Clemson, Duke in the regular season and Florida State in the regular season......named to the 2000-01 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Prep—Graduated from Shrewsbury High School on June 8, 2000...in the fall she played soccer and captained the team her senior year...as a senior she led SHS to the district championship...team went on to reach the state semifinals...named an NSCAA All-America as a junior and senior and a Parade All-America as a senior...played basketball in the winter, captaining the team as a senior...played both power forward and center on teams which reached the state semifinals her junior and senior years and the finals for the first time in school history...was an outstanding track athlete in the spring although she never competed until her junior year...she ran the 400 meters, competed in long jump and was part of the mile relay...as a senior, she placed second in the state in the long jump with a jump of 18-6 1/4 and anchored the mile relay team to a third-place finish in the state...vice president of National Honor Society...class treasurer all four years of high school...ranked third in her high school graduating class with a 3.9 GPA.
