Chandler Brandes joined the North Carolina athletics department in June 2022 as an Associate Director of Communications and Content Creation. She serves as the primary media contact for women’s soccer, gymnastics and women’s lacrosse.

Prior to joining the Tar Heels, Brandes served as the athletic communications and public relations assistant at the University of Kentucky. She was the primary contact for women’s soccer, swimming and diving and women’s tennis during her time in Lexington.

Brandes received her master’s in sport administration from the University of Louisville in 2021. She was part of the sports information office during her two years at UofL, working primarily with the swimming and diving, women’s lacrosse and soccer programs. She was also the communications and marketing graduate assistant in the alumni office.

A native of Burlington, Vt., she earned her bachelor’s degree in public communications with minors in coaching and sports management from the University of Vermont in 2019. A former swimmer for the Catamounts, Brandes also served as an intern in UVM’s athletic communications department.
