Paula Giles was named the director of volleyball operations in July 2017 after a one-year stint as the director of operations at the University of Houston. A four-year letterwinner for the University of Central Missouri, Giles also served as an assistant coach at Pittsburg State (2014) and a volunteer assistant at Rice (2015).
The Prentice Lewis Camp Director from 2011-13, Giles spent a year and a half as a graduate assistant manager for TCU (2012-13) while pursuing a master's degree in liberal arts. Following graduation, Giles became an assistant coach for Pittsburg State in the spring of 2014, where she led the defense and blocking while helping with scouting, recruiting and organizing team travel, meals and transportation.
In 2015, Giles guided Rice University to a 21-10 record as a volunteer assistant coach where she oversaw scouting and statistical analysis, managed team practice and travel, and helped promote the Owls through social media.
In the spring of 2016, Giles joined the Houston volleyball staff as its director of operations, where she managed team travel, monitored the budget, aided scouting and statistical analysis and served as the director for home tournaments.
A two-time All-American and four-time All-MIAA middle blocker at the University of Central Missouri (2008-11), Giles, nee Paula Harris, graduated as the Jennies' all-time leading point scorer, leading UCM to four consecutive NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, including the 2010 National Semifinals and the 2011 Elite Eight.
Giles graduated from UCM in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in physical education. Giles resides in Burlington, N.C. with her husband, Jeff, and their son, Logan.
