- Title:
- Student-Athlete Development/Football Operations Graduate Assistant
Ashlynn Hill is the football student-athlete development graduate assistant for Carolina Athletics, working specifically with player development. She joined the department in 2024 and is currently a second-year in the sport administration master’s program at the University of North Carolina.
Born and raised in Fayetteville, N.C., Hill earned her B.S. in sport and fitness management from Fayetteville State University in May 2024, graduating summa cum laude. She is expected to complete her M.A. in sport administration at UNC in 2026. Hill was named the inaugural 2025 CIAA McLendon Scholar, recognizing her leadership qualities and outstanding academic achievement.
Hill’s experience spans football operations, player development, event and championship operations and teaching lifetime fitness courses such as beginner swimming, yoga, pilates and walking. She previously served as an ODI intern through the Open Door Initiative with Duke Athletics, rotating through football operations, game day operations, and championships while shadowing meetings with the NCAA, ESPN College GameDay and the ACC. She also worked with Duke Recreation & Physical Education, where she built the framework for their inaugural HBCU Internship Program—developing program structures, cultivating partnerships with North Carolina HBCUs, and creating recruitment strategies to connect students with experiential learning opportunities in collegiate recreation.
She has also held roles in game operations, marketing, and hospitality with organizations including Fayetteville State Athletics, The Fayetteville Woodpeckers, Carolina Athletics and NASCAR. Hill’s academic research examines the underrepresentation and lived experiences of Black women from HBCU backgrounds in intercollegiate athletic leadership.
