Cara Drover joined Carolina Athletics in July 2022 as Graduate Assistant in the Business Office before transitioning into her role as Assistant Director of Business Operations for Football in November 2023. Prior to joining Athletics on a full-time basis, Drover participated in the Master’s in Sport Administration program at UNC and is currently completing her thesis.

Drover started her career in the equestrian industry, training horses and managing competition and performance programs for various professionals based in the eastern United States, most recently acting as head groom for Montgomery Equestrian in Lexington, Ky. During that time, she worked to move into the college athletics realm, serving as a coaching intern for the Georgetown Tigers football program and a beat writer for Big Blue Banter covering Kentucky football.

Drover earned her Bachelor’s in Community and Leadership Development at the University of Kentucky, where she also spent time interning in student-athlete career development and playing cornerback for the Derby City Dynamite in the Women’s Football Alliance.
