Carolina Faces Hartford For First Time On Friday

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina's busy week continues on Friday with a home game against Hartford at 3 p.m. The Tar Heels have won four of their last five games, while Hartford is 3-3 on the season.

Taylor Koenen's career-high 21 points led North Carolina to an 88-83 victory over Minnesota on Wednesday in the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge from Carmichael Arena. Carolina improves to 8-3 all-time in the Challenge, while Minnesota falls to 4-7. Jamie Cherry had 19 points, Janelle Bailey registered a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, Jocelyn Jones added 14 points and Paris Kea had 11.

KOENEN'S CAREER DAY
Sophomore Taylor Koenen, a native Minnesotan, had the best game of her young career against the Golden Gophers on Wednesday by scoring a career-high 21 points and had six rebounds and six assists in playing all 40 minutes. Koenen is averaging 11.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, an increase of her 6.6 points and 5.1 rebounds she contributed as a freshman in 2016-17.
