Carolina Takes On Presbyterian Tuesday

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina wraps up its fourth game in six days by hosting Presbyterian on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Carolina has won four games in a row, tying for the longest winning streak over the last two seasons.

SERIES HISTORY
UNC is 2-0 all-time against Presbyterian. The Heels picked up a 92-37 victory in the first ever meeting on Nov. 25, 2009. Two years later, UNC won a much tighter ball game, 61-38, on Nov. 22, 2011.
LAST TIME OUT
North Carolina won its fourth game in a row with a 56-43 victory over Appalachian State on Sunday evening. In the 23rd meeting between the two in-state rivals, Paris Kea and Jamie Cherry combined for 37 points and the Tar Heels limited the Mountaineers to only 17 points in the second half to improve to 6-2 on the season.
The Tar Heels had an uncharacteristic off-shooting night scoring only 56 points, but their defense held Appalachian State to 29.2 shooting and nobody scored in double-figures. Pre Stanley led the Mountaineers with nine points. Kea scored a game-high 20 points and Cherry added 17. Freshman Janelle Bailey had 11 rebounds and sophomore Taylor Koenen hauled in 10 boards.

• Paris Kea is off to a phenomenal start to her second season with the Tar Heels, ranking third in the ACC at 19.5 points per game. She is also fourth in the ACC with 6.9 assists and sixth with 2.6 steals per game
• Kea scored 31 points against South Alabama, one shy of her career high. She also handed out a career-high 11 assists against the Jaguars to notch her second career double-double.
• Kea is among five ACC players to score 30 point in a game this season.
• Kea has either made (59) or assisted (55) on 47.5 percent (114-of-240) of Carolina's field goals thus far this season.
• She has scored in double figures in 21 straight games going back to last season.
BAILEY'S BEEN BALLING
Among ACC freshman, Janelle Bailey ranks first in the league in scoring with 15.6 points per game. She is shooting a robust 52.6 percent from the field, the 10th best average in the conference.
Bailey had a season-high 25 points against Hartford, and registered 13 rebounds against the Hawks for her third double-double of her rookie season.
KOENEN'S CAREER DAY
Taylor Koenen's career-high 21 points led North Carolina to an 88-83 victory over Minnesota on Wednesday in the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge from Carmichael Arena. Carolina improves to 8-3 all-time in the Challenge, while Minnesota falls to 4-7.

• Presbyterian head coach Todd Streelman, a native of Hickory, N.C., worked as a volunteer with the 1993-94 NCAA Championship North Carolina women's basketball team.Â
• Assistant coach Megan Buckland, from High Point, N.C., played portions of four seasons with the Tar Heels before graduating in May 2015. Buckland also served one season as the Head Video Coordinator for Carolina during the 2015-16 season.Â
