UNC is 4-0 all-time against Furman. All four previous meetings have been held in Chapel Hill. The last head-to-head contest was a 77-36 Tar Heel victory on Nov, 25, 2007.
LAST TIME OUT
North Carolina ran its winning streak to five games with a 91-56 victory over Presbyterian. Tar Heel head coach Sylvia Hatchell picked up career win No. 997 in her pursuit of 1,000 career victories. Paris Kea had another outstanding game with 23 points and seven assists, while Jamie Cherry added 17 points. Jaelynn Murray scored a season-high 10 points and Taylor Koenen grabbed a game-high 10 boards. Carolina shot 56.4 percent from the field as its offense clicked both inside and out on Tuesday. The Tar Heels knocked down a season-high 12 three-pointers and enjoyed a 36-12 edge in paint points.

• Paris Kea is having a a phenomenal second season with the Tar Heels, ranking third in the ACC at 19.9 points per game. She is also fourth in the ACC with 6.9 assists, sixth with 2.6 steals per game and 10th in field goal percentage (53.7).
• Kea scored 31 points against South Alabama, one shy of her career high. She also handed out a career-high 11 assists against the Jaguars to notch her second career double-double.
• Kea is among five ACC players to score 30 point in a game this season.
• Kea has either made (66) or assisted (62) on 47.2 percent (128-of-271) of Carolina's field goals thus far this season.
• She has scored in double figures in 22 straight games going back to last season.
BAILEY'S BEEN BALLING
Among ACC freshman, Janelle Bailey ranks second in the league in scoring with 14.4 points per game. She is shooting a robust 52.4 percent from the field, the 11th best average in the conference. She has earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors twice. Bailey had a season-high 25 points against Hartford, and registered 13 rebounds against the Hawks for her third double-double of her rookie season.
HATCHELL THIRD AMONG ACTIVE CAREER WINS LEADER
With 997 career wins, UNC Hall of Fame coach Sylvia Hatchell owns the third most wins among active women's basketball coaches, trailing only Stanford's Tara VanDerveer and UConn's Geno Auriemma.Tennessee legend Pat Summitt is the all-time leader with 1,098 wins.
BAILEY NAMED USA BASKETBALL FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
After helping lead the 2017 USA Basketball Women's 3x3 U18 World Cup Team to a 7-0 record and a gold medal at the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup from June 28-July 2 in Chengdu, China, Janelle Bailey IS the 2017 USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year. Bailey is the first USA 3x3 national team player to be recognized as USA Basketball's Female Athlete of the Year.
"It means the world to me to receive this award," Bailey said. "Being a part of USA Basketball has been an extremely incredible opportunity that I'm truly grateful for. USA Basketball has allowed me to travel the world and build relationships with my teammates and coaches that I am thankful for. To be recognized as USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year is an honor, and I am humbled to be in the company of the other fantastic players that have won this award."
One of three players selected to the 2017 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup All-Tournament Team, Bailey led all players in the 20-team tournament in scoring, with 40 of the USA's 129 total points and 5.7 points per game, and she scored a team-high 11 points in the 21-14 gold-medal win against Czech Republic.
