CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina hosts long-time rival Clemson on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the 84th all-time meeting between the two programs. UNC is 1-2 in the league after a 68-67 win over Pitt last Sunday, while Clemson is 0-3 after a loss at Virginia, 70-41.

Carolina leads 55-28 over Clemson in the all-time series. Clemson snapped a five-game losing streak to the Tar Heels with a 78-66 win last Feb. 5 in Clemson, S.C. UNC is 22-2 against the Tigers since 2001-02. Sylvia Hatchell is 44-17 all-time against Clemson, the most wins against an ACC opponent.

Jamie Cherry made a game-winning three-pointer with 12 seconds left in regulation to lift North Carolina to a 68-67 victory over Pitt on Sunday from Carmichael Arena.
The Tar Heels trailed for most of the second half, but Cherry's fifth triple of the day put an exclamation point on a ferocious comeback that saw Carolina trail by as many as eight points in the fourth quarter.Â
Cherry's game-high 22 points equaled her total scoring output in the first two conference games, both of which Carolina came out on the losing end. Freshman Janelle Bailey and junior Paris Kea scored 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Aliyah Collier scored 27 points to lead Clemson to a come-from-behind, 78-67, victory over North Carolina on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 from Littlejohn Coliseum.
Carolina appeared in control with a double figure advantage throughout the first half and a 42-31 lead at halftime. However, the Tar Heels shot 31.4 percent and made only two 3-pointers in the second half.
The Tigers used a 48-22 edge in paint points to climb over the Tar Heels Clemson took its first lead with four minutes, 20 seconds left in regulation and proceeded to outscore UNC 16-6 the rest of the way.
Jamie Cherry, who scored a team-leading 22 points, knocked down three triples in the opening quarter and UNC shot 66.7 percent to take a 23-13 lead.

Sylvia Hatchell won her 1,000th career game with a 79-63 victory over Grambling State on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Hatchell, a 2013 Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame inductee, is only the third women's basketball coach in history to reach 1,000 career victories, joining former Tennessee legend Pat Summitt and Stanford's Tara VanDerveer. Duke's Mike Krzyzewski is the only men's coach among Division I basketball coaches to hit the 1,000 mark. Connecticut head coach Geno Auriemma got his 1,000th victory later that night with a win over Oklahoma.
