CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Taylor Ortlepp scored a career-high 23 points to lead Boston College to a 77-64 victory over North Carolina on Friday morning inside Conte Forum.
Janelle Bailey, the four-time ACC Rookie of the Week, finished with 18 points and eight rebounds before fouling out to pace North Carolina (10-5, 0-2 Atlantic Coast Conference). Paris Kea contributed 16 points and Jamie Cherry had 12.
Taylor Koenen hauled in 10 rebounds, her seventh double-figure rebounding total this season.
Ortlepp made five of Boston College's season-high 11 three-pointers to snap a three-game losing streak for the Eagles.
Milan Bolden-Morris tossed in 18 points, Georgia Pineau had 15 points and Andie Anastos had 13.
Carolina took its largest lead of the first half, 17-8, on a Emily Sullivan bucket late in the first quarter. However, the Eagles responded with a 15-5 run and ultimately took the lead, 23-22, on a layup from Pineau midway through the second stanza.
The game was tied on two occasions heading to intermission, but the last four points went to the home team and Boston College led 32-28 at halftime.
After Kea knotted the game at 37-37, Boston College's Bolden-Morris capped off a 9-0 run with a triple at the 4:00 mark of the third quarter to lead 46-37.
Kea attempted to snap the Heels out of its shooting woes with a three-pointer, but BC answered with its sharp-shooter Ortlepp, who knocked down a fifth triple of the game to give her club a 55-45 edge heading to the final stanza.
The Eagles extended their lead to as many as 15 points in the fourth, but an Olivia Smith corner 3-ball gave UNC some life, down only 70-61. That was as close as Carolina would get in falling for the third-straight outing.
Cherry was 10-of-11 from the free throw line to move into eighth place in school history with 385 career free throws.
Carolina returns home to host Pitt on Sunday at 2 p.m.
