Bailey Named All-ACC Honorable Mention

GREENSBORO, North Carolina - North Carolina freshman forward Janelle Bailey earned All-ACC Honorable Mention status after a spectacular first season with the Tar Heels, as voted by the Blue Ribbon Panel.
Selected as the ACC Freshman of the Year last week, Bailey leads all ACC rookies in both scoring and rebounding with 15.3 points and 9.1 boards per game. Her 3.6 offensive rebound average leads all ACC players.Â
Bailey, the 2017 USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year, also led all league freshman with 13 double-doubles, the third most overall in the conference.
She was at her best against ACC foes, averaging a double-double with 15.8 points and 10.1 caroms.
Teammate Paris Kea was selected for the All-ACC first team. She ranks third in the league in scoring with 19.4 points per game, the highest figure at UNC in 20 years.
