Tar Heel Volleyball Ties All-Time Winning Streak Of 14 With Sweep Of Florida State

Tallahassee, Fla. - UNC swept Florida State (15-5, 15-8, 15-8) Friday in Tallahassee to tie the school record for consecutive wins with 14, a mark set by the 1998 team. The Tar Heels are now 16-3 overall and remain undefeated in the ACC at 8-0. Casey Simpson led the way for the Heels with 14 kills on 31 attempts with only one error for a .419 hitting percentage. Simpson also led the team in digs with eight. Senior Tori Seibert tallied six kills on the night to increase her career total to 1,518, surpassing Jill Berkebile for fifth place all-time in total kills at UNC. Eve Rackham returned to the line-up for the Tar Heels and recorded 37 assists after missing Carolina's last match with a sprained ankle.
UNC out hit FSU .286 to .117 in the match which dropped the Seminoles record to 6-13 overall, 0-7 in the ACC. Junior Jennifer Werrick led Florida State with nine kills and nine digs.
Carolina now moves on to Jacksonville to face the Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
