Chapel Hill, N.C. - University of North Carolina sophomore Brooke Wilson was named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week for her efforts at the George Washington Invitational last Saturday.

Wilson's performance was key in the Tar Heels' second place finish among the six team field at the Invite. Wilson set a school record of 38.95 in the all-around and claimed the all-around title at the meet. In addition, Wilson placed first on the floor (9.85) and beam (9.7), and took second on the vault (9.7) and bars (9.7).

The Tar Heels are in action this Saturday as they prepare to host their first home meet of the season against Radford at 7:00 p.m. All home meets are in Carmichael Auditorium and admission is free.
