Seabrooks Named ACC Newcomer Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced women's gymnastics weekly awards Tuesday afternoon. Sydney Seabrooks was tabbed ACC Newcomer of the Week for the first time this season.
Last week, the freshman put together an all-around score of 39.450 against no. 13 Minnesota. Seabrooks recorded a career-high 9.900 on beam while posting her eighth score of 9.900 or higher on floor.
The Clearwater, Fla. native has consistently ranked among the top 10 on floor in the nation. Seabrooks is currently tied for sixth in the NCAA on the event and tied for first in the ACC.
Seabrooks was named ACC Specialist of the Week Jan. 20 after recording back-to-back scores of 9.950 on floor to begin the season.
The freshman was also named to the ACC Preseason Newcomer Watchlist and Most Anticipated Freshmen List by College Gym News.
