Women's Lacrosse Program to Welcome Eight Freshmen

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Jenny Slingluff Levy announced Thursday a 1999 recruiting class which includes six recruited freshmen who have signed national letters of intent and two more recruited walk-ons. Following is the list of players who will be joining the North Carolina program this fall. North Carolina will be entering its fifth varsity season during the 1999-2000 school year. The Tar Heels have made the NCAA Tournament field each of the past three years.

Kate Boyle - Garden City High School, Garden City, N.Y. - Completed a post-graduate year at the Peddie School in New Jersey-Attacker-High School All-America selection.
Betsy Gaines - Roland Park Country School, Baltimore, Md. - Midfielder-Member of Under-19 U.S. Lacrosse Team--Two-Time High School First-Team All-America selection-First-Team All-Metro Selection in three sports (field hockey, basketball, lacrosse).
Margaret Garofalo - Paul Schreiber High School, Port Washington, N.Y.-Goalkeeper.
Meghan Kelly - Roland Park Country School, Baltimore, Md. - Defender-Alternate Member of Under-19 U.S. Lacrosse Team-High School All-America selection.
Andrea Fortino - Shawnee High School-Medford, N.J. - Defender-Two-Time High School First-Team All-America selection.
Jessica Osterman - Walt Whitman High School, Bethesda, Md. - Attacker.
Lynne Quattrone - Baldwinsville High School, Syracuse, N.Y. - Midfielder-High School All-America selection.
Jazmine Norton - McDonogh School, Baltimore, Md. - Midfielder/Defender.
