North Carolina Head Coach Mike Fox
"Crowder was really good. He is a competitor. That is why Danny gave him the ball
in the first game."
Has it been tough to get into the flow after final exams?
Georgia Tech Head Coach Danny Hall
"I hated to take him out (with a no-hitter after six), but we're here to win the tournament.
To be honest with you I was hoping he'd give up a hit before I had to take him out.
I told him though, that if we make it to Sunday he's my pitcher."
"We got hits off a good pitching staff today. I'm very proud of the way our
hitters competed."
"I think you have to give hats off to Georgia Tech. They played really outstanding.
The first inning maybe deflated us a little bit.
When you get behind early it is always difficult. We tried to look at in a positive way
that we had a whole game left to play."
"I don't want to start reaching for straws here. We haven't been real consistent with all
phases of the game. We'll get a real good pitching performance and then we won't swing the
bats very well. We need to try to put all three phases of the game together tomorrow. It is
up to us to step up and respond. When you're coaching college baseball final exams are part
of it. Every other team has been through that. We're not going to use that as an excuse."
"There were two keys to the game for us. First, we got some runs in the first inning off
of Snare, a guy who had been tough on us on Saturday. I think that certainly gave our hitters
some confidence, and then Chuck (Crowder) got us through the first inning easy and kept
the game in check the whole time. We were also able to keep scoring."
