Mike Bynum Signs With San Diego

Mike Bynum has signed with the San Diego Padres and has been assigned to their Idaho Falls, Idaho "short season" club. Bynum was the 49th overall pick in June's Major League Baseball Draft.
Bynum, a 6-3, 200 pound lefthanded pitcher from Middleburg, Fla., compiled a 7-1 record with an ERA of 3.90 during the 1999 season. Bynum struck out 89 hitters in 85.1 innings on the mound. The junior standout has a career record of 16-10.
