CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-- The University of North Carolina's freshmen football players have completed their second day of collegiate workouts, as the 33 newcomers participated in two practice sessions again today at Henry Stadium. Head Coach Carl Torbush and his staff welcome Carolina's upperclassmen to campus tomorrow, and after two days of meetings and orientation the entire squad will hit the practice field for a 5 p.m. workout on Tuesday.
"I felt like practice went real well today," Torbush said. "We were pleased with how our kids responded mentally and physically under some hot conditions today.
"These past two days we've tried to orient the freshmen to how to be a student-athlete at the University of North Carolina so that when the upperclassmen arrive they won't be behind. It will be an interesting two or three days the beginning of next week to see how these players respond, but I feel like we have several freshmen who will get a chance to play this year."
Tuesday's full-squad workout at Henry Stadium is open to the public.
