Arthur Johnson Joins UNC Football Staff

CHAPEL HILL --- Thomasville, Ga., native Arthur Johnson has joined the University of North Carolina football staff as assistant to the athletic director. He came to Carolina after three years as the manager of football operations at Arizona State.
Johnson will assist with NCAA rules compliance training for student-athletes and coaches, serve as UNCs liaison to the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse, coordinate programs that educate student-athletes and their families about agents, and handle other administrative duties as assigned by the athletic director and head coach.
In Tempe, Johnson coordinated the Sun Devils travel and meals, spring clinic, summer camp, official visits, oversaw the student managers and served as liaison to the Sun Angel Foundation and stadium management. He also prepared practice schedules and game itineraries.
Johnson received his undergraduate degree in risk management and insurance from the University of Georgia in 1992. He earned his masters in education from Georgia in 1994.
Johnson served as team manager for the Bulldogs. In 1993-94, he was an administrative assistant in the Georgia football office. From August 1994 until June 1996 he was administrative assistant in the Georgia event management office.
Johnson has been a member of seven bowl game staffs, including the 1997 Rose Bowl when the Sun Devils played Ohio State.
Johnson was married July 10th to the former TLeatha Suitt.
