"N.C. State is a very good football team. They've got good athletes. They were prepared and ready to play.
"I was very impressed with what they're doing on offense. Coach Chow does a really nice job with their offensive schemes. He's got them playing really well.
"I was disappointed in our inability to stop the run.
"The offense never could get in rhythym. We didn't make any big plays. We were not able to make some big plays in the passing game that we had the opportunity to make.
"I thought our players fought hard. I thought we were a little tight early. I take responsibility for that. We didn't loosen up and play with reckless abandon until we got behind.
"We had a chance to win the game with nine minutes to go, but it just didn't happen.
"On the fake punt with 4th and 2, if you make it, it's a great call. If you don't, it's a bad call. It's my responsibility, I made that call. I think it would have worked if their outside rusher had not had a collision with our wing and knocked him backwards.
"I thought it was a hard fought game, both teams really wanted to win. It hurts to lose a game you needed to win, you wanted to win. We've had two of those in a row.
"We haven't played as well or consistent the last two weeks. We had some silly penalties at tough times.
"We can't keep waiting for next week. We've got to get going. We've got a really tough football team (Clemson) on our hands next week. It's not time for anyone to start feeling sorry for himself.
"They didn't let us get behind them (in the passing game) very much. A couple of times when we did get behind them we were not able to make the nice throw.
"We're in a difficult position now. We've got another tough one next week. We can't sit here and feel sorry for ourselves."
