Public Safety Announces Super Sports Saturday Parking / Transit Plan
The Department of Public Safety has announced that normal football home game day parking and transit operations will be in effect on Saturday, October 21, 2000. The Men's Basketball Blue / White game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., the football game versus Clemson will begin at 5:40 p.m.
Park and Ride Services
Chapel Hill Transit will operate special park and ride services to the Smith Center for the Blue / White Men's Basketball game from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. for fans wishing to attend pre-game, transit services will run from the Smith Center back to park and ride lots for approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the basketball game. There will be no special transit services operating from the Smith Center to the football game at Kenan Stadium.
Normal football park and ride services will operate beginning at 4:00 p.m. until the 5:40 p.m. kick-off at and then again for the postgame return to park and ride lots as usual. Shuttles will operate from the following locations:
* University Mall * Highway 54 Lot (near the Friday Ctr.)
* Southern Village * Carrboro Plaza
Reserved Rams Club Parking
All lots normally reserved for football Rams Club permit parking will be reserved for Rams Club football permit parking only. Basketball permits will NOT be honored for the Blue / White Men's Basketball game, nor will the general public be allowed to park in these lots.
Public Parking
Public parking for the day's two major events will be available for $6.00 in the following campus locations:
* Manning Lot * ACC Lot * South Chiller Lot
* Cardinal Pkg. Deck * Nash Lot * Park Place Lot
* General Administration Lot * Wilson Lot * Undergraduate Lot
Disability Parking
Parking for disabled patrons for $6.00 will be reserved in the Craige Parking Deck off Manning Drive. Shuttles will operated from the Craige Deck Surface Lot to the Smith Center and to Kenan Stadium AND from the Smith Center to Kenan Stadium for both the pre-game and post-game.
