Ronald Curry:
"We knew we were up against a good team and they were going to keep fighting
back. When we were up by 17 we felt like we had a good rhythm going on offense.
We did a lot of good things tonight, but we didn't make the plays we needed to
make to win. This is a building block for us. Losing hurts, but the offense snd
defense played well. We just didn't make the plays we needed to make to win.
"I thought at first I had another season-ending injury, but the good Lord blessed me. It felt like it was worse than what it was. I'm just glad the doctors felt that I could play. It felt much better after I got to running around on it again.
"Losing hurts, but we live to play another day. You know I love this game. It hurts, that's about it."
Ryan Sims:
"This hurts a lot, but we've got to move on. This is hard because it's at home,
and we've got to travel next week. We've just got to pick it up and play
well next week.
"It's real tough losing these three games, but a good team will move on. We played hard and fought with all our heart. We didn't come out and roll over. We just let it slip through our fingers.
"(Willie) Simmons came in and did a good job. He's a great quarterback.
"They beat us with the pass. That's what a great team does. They figure out a way to win."
Brandon Spoon:
"We knew they had a powerful offense and the ability to score points.
We came out with a lot of enthusiasm and intensity, but we played tight once
we got the lead. Nobody likes losing, and losing a conference game is big.
ut there's no doubt in my mind we can come back and win the next four games.
"They made some great plays. You know, some times you have to win your individual battle. Some plays we didn't, others we did. If we had them third and eighty, it seems like they'd get a first down.
"We've got to play hard and practice hard. We know what we have to do, and we are going to come out with fire and intensity the next game."
Kory Bailey:
"I think we lost focus. A couple of bad things happened. We dropped some balls, some
calls didn't go our way. But that's football, you have to bounce back from those
things.
"We felt confident that we could move the ball on them. There were a number of momentum shifts in the game.
"We're just not getting it done in the fourth quarter. We have to minimize our mistakes. That's what's hurting us now.
Bosley Allen:
"I reached out for it, but it went too far, so I pulled back. Their players and
coaches went crazy as if I'd touched it, so I guess that motivated the referee to
call it.
"The gloves I wear are very sensitive, so if I'd touched it, I know I would have felt it and dived on the ball. He (the referee) called his call, I have to respect it."
