"It's hard for me to believe that they (North Carolina) haven't won a bunch more games the way they played today. Of course, we gave them a couple of scores offensively and we couldn't tackle. Our tackling was horrible. Our pass protection was horrible. We did everything we could to give them a chance for a big game, and that's what we did.

"Our guys hung in there like they did all year. They tried to come back and play a little bit better in the second half. We forced them to punt a few times, which we didn't do at all in the first half.

"D. (Bryant) couldn't play. He bruised his hand. He just wasn't able to grip the ball. I thought Spencer came in and played admirably.

"We played a lot of those guys. It was a growing experience for them. Unfortunately, it was an experience for them to learn how to handle a lot of adversity."
