Peppers Fifth in Nation in Sacks

In the most recent NCAA defensive stats released on Thursday, defensive end Julius Peppers is tied for fifth in the nation in sacks and seventh in tackles for loss.
Peppers has 10 sacks for 77 yards (1.25 per game) and 17 tackles for loss for 103 yards (2.13) in eight games this season. Syracuse's Dwight Feeney leads the nation in sacks with 1.86 per game, Louisville's Michale Josiah is second at 1.44, Georgia Tech's Greg Gathers is third at 1.38 and Pittsburgh's Bryan Knight is fourth at 1.36.
Senior linebacker Brandon Spoon is 12th in the nation in total tackles with 11.63 per game. Levar Fisher of NC State leads the nation with 14.57 per game.
The Tar Heels visit Pittsburgh this weekend on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN2.
