Heinrichs Announces 18-Player Women's Soccer Roster For Norway Match

CHAPEL HILL, S.C. - U.S. Women's National Team Head Coach April Heinrichs has given the U.S. Team the day off from training on Saturday, Feb. 5, and the practice previously scheduled for 1 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium has been canceled. Heinrichs has also announced her 18-player roster for the USA's Sunday, Feb. 6, match with Norway at Lockhart Stadium (2 p.m. For tickets, please call 954/473-0927). The roster was chosen from the 35-player camp that began last Wednesday and included two practice sessions per day for the past three days. Making the roster for the match are three 17-year-olds: uncapped forward Alyssa Ramsey from Charlotte, N.C., midfielder Aleisha Cramer from Lakewood, Colo. and Florida product defender Nandi Pryce from Casselberry. Other young players getting the nod include 18-year old forward Christy Welsh, who led the country in scoring as a freshman for Penn State last fall, uncapped 20-year old midfielder Jenna Kluegal and a pair of 19-year olds, midfielder Aly Wagner and forward Susan Bush. Eleven veterans of the 1999 Women's World Cup Championship Team were chosen to dress for the match, led by Mia Hamm, the world's all-time leading scorer with 114 career goals, and Kristine Lilly, the world's most-capped player with 191 appearances.
