CHAPEL HILL -- As part of its annual Blue-White football game, the UNC football program is inviting all UNC students to participate in a unique skills contest at halftime of Saturday's festivities. The spring scrimmage will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Kenan Stadium.
All males can take part in both a deep snapping contest and a punting contest. The male student who registers the fastest and most accurate snap will win Carolina Football prizes. Likewise, the male student with the longest punt will also win Tar Heel Football prizes.
Carolina's female students are invited to battle for longest throw and kick honors. Both the female student with the longest throw as well as the student with the longest kick off of a tee will win prizes.
Carolina alum and popular ESPN anchor Stuart Scott will be on hand to meet and greet all participants and congratulate winners.
All interested students MUST call the Carolina Football Office at 966-2575 to register.
Gates open at 2:30 p.m. for Saturday's game and admission is free, though fans are encouraged to bring canned goods to help support the North Carolina Food Bank.
Following the game, the Tar Heels will sign autographs for fans on the field. They will be joined by several past UNC standouts who are current or former NFL players.
