SUNRIVER, Ore. - University of North Carolina golfer Marcy Newton carded a 74 in the final round of the NCAA Women's Golf Championships for a 318 total. The 72-hole tournament was played at the Crosswater Golf Course at the Sunriver Resort and features a par 72, 6,502-yard layout.
Newton, a senior from High Point, N.C. and a three-time All-ACC performer, has won three tournaments during her career as a Tar Heel - the 1997 Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic, the 1999 Fripp Island Intercollegiate and the 2000 Bryan National Collegiate.
